Interior lining
Women who train regularly will need a moisture-wicking lining or will need to air gloves diligently between sessions. A damp glove interior breeds bacteria quickly — wrist wraps help, but lining quality matters too.
Training Gloves vs Bag Gloves vs Sparring Gloves
Many women start boxing for fitness and never need sparring gloves. For fitness boxing:
- A single pair of all-round training gloves in the correct weight handles bag work and pad work
- Sparring gloves (typically 16oz) are only needed if you spar
